The Irish Centre for Environmental Toxicology (ICET) is a multi-disciplinary research laboratory investigating several aspects of environmental toxicology and environmental chemistry.
As a collaborative research centre, ICET can draw on the strengths of each of the three partner organisations GMIT, AIT and NUIG, which are all involved in different and complementary areas of research. Through a memorandum of understanding and active collaboration between these three organisations ICET can undertake research covering a wide range of topics. ICET also offers a tangible platform to aid in the application for funding for large scale research projects drawing from the combined expertise from three separate academic institutes.
ICET is a functioning environmental toxicology lab housing the substantial Irish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funded Developing Environmental Research Potential (DERP) award (Project Ref: 2007-DRP-3-S5) in the new research centre in GMIT.
